Soapbox Science Newcastle
Newcastle has hosted a Soapbox Science event for 4 years and for the last 2 years it has been organised by Newcastle University’s Faculty of Medical Science Engagement Team along with colleagues from across the University. Soapbox Science is a fantastic way to celebrate women working in STEM and to engage with members of the public. We convert Grey’s Monument in Newcastle city centre into an area for lively discussion, attracting people of all ages and backgrounds. It’s great to see so many people interested and enthusiastic about science who may not have previously been aware of the cutting-edge research happening on their doorstep. We hope the day leaves people feeling excited and inspired about science!
We are looking forward to our fifth Soapbox Science in 2019!
