Soapbox Science Winnipeg 2024

Soapbox Science Winnipeg Returns for 2024: A Day of Discovery and Engagement at Skate Park, The Forks, Winnipeg

Building on the success of last year’s event, Soapbox Science Winnipeg is back and will take place in person at Skate Park, The Forks, on September 14, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The 2023 event was a remarkable success, drawing over 250 attendees who engaged with scientists presenting their research from soapboxes, creating an energetic and interactive environment.

This year, Soapbox Science continues its commitment to elevating the voices of women and non-binary scientists. Women and non-binary scientists from Winnipeg will gather on soapboxes, turning the venue into a vibrant hub of scientific exploration and conversation. By offering these talented individuals a platform to share their research with the public, the event strives to break down barriers and promote a more inclusive future for science.

The event will showcase 12 distinguished scientists sharing their groundbreaking research across various fields such as AI, robotics, medicine, and genetics. Each presentation will feature interactive props to engage the audience and make complex concepts more accessible, ensuring a dynamic and inclusive experience.
